The aim of Gynae & Obs Unit in SMC is to provide high standard of care through multidisciplinary approach including obstetrician & gynaecologist, Neonatologist, Anaesthesiologist, supported by physicians and surgeons. The department offers broad range of inpatient & out-patient services including. Routine obstetrical care i.e antenatal, intra partum & postnatal care Fetal monitoring (cardiotoegraphy & biophysical profile) Day care unit for CTG, BPP, BP monitoring & other investigation for complete assessment of maternal and fetal health. A well equipped labour room Dedicated operating room Comprehensive diagnosis & treatment of routine gynaecological disorders A high dependency unit (HDU) for high risk patients Apart from these , the department will offer diagnostic laparoscopy & dye test for tubal patency PAP smear as a screening tool for diagnosis of cervical cancers Manual vacume aspiration (MVA) for incomplete miscarriage Diagnostic Hysteroscopy Our future plan is to provide epidural analgesia for painless delivery.
